Monday 11/17/14 - ACET’s November Meeting
- We will be distributing your NAHB membership info ASAP!
- Thank you for coming to Homecoming, it was a great time and it was a successful fundraiser! Hope we can continue this tradition in the future.
- Thank you to Vista Sand for making a great donation to our organization! Grab a cup and/or pen if you want!
- A group of ACET members competed in the SURE poster board competition and it was a great success for the CNET program!
- Mark your calendars - November 22nd - last football game!!
- We have a presentation with our supporting NAHB Chapter, Dallas Builders Association, tomorrow.

- Application is paid for so this should be starting soon!

- Working on getting tours at Sand Vista Mine and NUCOR.

Monday 10/20/14 - ACET’s October Meeting
- Thank you all for signing up! We have 42 members this year!! Increased again!
- Everyone is registered for NAHB. We will distribute your membership info ASAP!
- Career fair was a success!
- No longer going to pursue being a CMAA Chapter - maybe in the future.
- Presentation to Board of Advisors was a success!
- BIM Blast Tournament was a success!
- Last Two Football Games - November 8th and 22nd
- Homecoming - November 8th! Mark your calendars! - Fundraiser Football Throwing Contest, Grilling out for members, other fun games and activities for members.
- Baker Concrete Presentation Thursday October 23rd.
- Competitions: Congratulations to those who made the competition teams!!
- NAHB Competition: First meeting today!
- DOE Competition: Will begin at the end of November!
- TEXO Competition: Will begin in January!
- Tours: Working on getting tours at Mine and NUCOR.
- Other ideas include Student Union and Steel Mill.

7) BIM Blast Tournament hosted by IKERD benefiting north Texas A/E/C students - October 10th. Ask an officer for details.
- 8) Please share ideas with officers, other students, and faculty for tours and guest speakers. Lumber Mill, Nucor, Student Union, etc.
- 9) CEO Meeting on Tuesday, September 16 from 3-5pm in Dean's Conference Room A140.

in the Dean’s Conference Room A140.

money for Trip: Presentation to Board of Advisors on October 10th,

4.) Association of General Contractors (AGC) Convention in Las Vegas, March 3-6. Link: http://convention.agc.org/ Speakers: world-class speakers such as Captain Richard Phillips, Captain of vessel hijacked by Somali pirates, and Robert Gates, Former United States Secretary of Defense. Space is limited it will be based on our budget, and will favor those who have attended most of ACET meeting.
5.) Homecoming raised +$250 with the Football Toss.
6.) NAHB membership cards, will be at Professor DeSimone's office
7.) You can still register and be a paid member of ACET, email Kevin at [email protected]
8.) Dr. Yu is looking for undergraduate CNET students to work in his lab as a research assistants. (students who can handle steel welding and fabrication task) contact Dr. Yu.
9.) Students interested in Residential Construction can submit a resume to Professor DeSimone. She will make one for local companies in the area and the other to NAHB for national companies.

2.) Fundraising, basketball game concession stand and need 7 volunteers.

4.) ABET accreditation is this weekend, 6 years.
5.) The past career fair we had on October 3rd was the largest we've had. 75 companies attended and 8 of those where construction companies (thats 10%).
6.) Spring career fair, which is the main career fair and is usually bigger than the fall career fair, February 20th, 10 AM – 2 PM @ DP during engineering week. Resumes should be submitted online to the career center.
7.) ACET logo? T-shirt or Polo?
8.) Next meeting, November 15th We need a big crowd attending this meeting!
